Descent Sundays

You snared me with a glance…

He saw her dancing in the middle of the floor: twisting to the music, stomping to the beat. The coloured lights spun and flickered, and the floor vibrated with the base. Her slicked scarlet  rubber dress gleamed in the low lights and her pale legs shone through the black fish net stockings. She flipped blood-red bangs out of her face, looked his way and blinked.

Bound me with your smile…

She leaned over to another dancer, shouted at their ear; a nod was exchanged. The girl turned and walked towards him, stalking across the floor. Her black buckle boots were silent on the dance floor; footsteps drowned out by the pounding of the speakers. She threaded her way through the other dancers, her eyes were trained on him; her grin, predatory.

And enchanted me with your words.

Her face was flushed with energy and her body radiated heat. He straightened on his stool as she leaned over the divider. Her arms snaked around his neck and her lips brushed his ear as his arms wrapped around her waist. “Hey sexy,” she said as she pulled away. One of her hands trailed down his shoulder and tickled his wrist before twining her fingers with his. “C’mon, I know somewhere quiet.”

She tugged on his hand and he followed her to the back of the club, the music pounding in his ears, his focus on her hips and his voice caught in his throat.
