Dr Fontaine had finally left and the labs were peaceful again. Curiosity inevitably drew Rico to the tank, where he softly tapped the glass. Once Simon opened his eyes to glance down at him, the lab tech carefully mouthed, “What was that about earlier?”
Simon smiled and carefully shrugged his shoulders. A calm resonating thought came murmuring into Rico’s mind. An old adversary said something amusing. The hairless man paused and frowned. Perhaps I should not have laughed so hard, for he was very sincere.
Rico blinked and frowned himself. “Why did you laugh then?”
Because he used a cliché.
