Gregori groaned. “Yes, that’s exactly what the General meant by safe. Really Hendrick, how deranged was your childhood?”
The soldier shrugged. “Bad.” He turned back to the captain. “Think. We aren’t the cutest babysitters, but that lab is going to burn.”
Nathan stared at Hendrick’s craggy face. It wasn’t what Simon wanted, but the ex-scout had a point. Every lab tech would be grilled by the interrogators. The closer to the experiment, the more suspicion. The only people more at risk than Rico was themselves, and they would be far away. He groaned.
