He was almost out the door when the titan clapped a hand on his shoulder. Hendrick pivoted and nearly staggered into a convenient wall. That vodka was stronger than he thought. “What?” he asked the giant.

“Almost forgot.” Gregori leaned forward and Hendrick nearly unbalanced. The titan blinked and shifted his weight off the smaller man. “You said something about Sydney.”

Mind blank, the scout frowned at the bare cement floor. “Prob’ly ’bout Ed’s birthday today.” Gregori made a low sound of surprise and Hendrick knocked his head against the plaster. “Fuck! I wasn’t suppose— Hell, Eddie’s gonna kill me.”
