Unintentional Injuries

The doors burst open with an abrupt gust of displaced air. “Rico!”

He nearly jumped out of the chair. As it was, his feet tangled and down he went, clipping his elbow on the table’s unyielding metal edge.

“Ah shit.” A huge form hunkered over him as he half lay on his side, cradling his throbbing arm. “Sorry about that. Come, let’s get you up.” Two gigantic hands grasped Rico about the waist and heaved him upright.

Blinking, the startled man peered up at the larger man through bleary eyes. “I know you.”

The titan chuckled self-consciously. “Yeah, you do.”
